Tropicalia is a tourism project that completes the existing offer in the region (Nausicaa, Bagatelle, Marquenterre Park…). Since the first meeting with the Regional Tourism Committee in 2014, the project has been developed to meet the sustainable tourism guidelines of the region
For the construction, Hauts-de-France companies were chosen :
Engineering company PROJEX from Calais.
Coldefy, the Architectural firm from Lille to draw the dome.
The ARKAL Group based in Le Parcq to build the metal frame of the dome.
In 2018, the project received 3 international prizes with special honours for “integrated coastal landscape”. From May 2021, Tropicalia was one of the projects showcased at the Venice Biennale of Architecture.
Moreover, the project will also become part of the economic local landscape by boosting local industries and sectoral activities on a daily basis. In that sense, Tropicalia is a project anchored in its region and it is the reason why it is supported by the suburban community, the Hauts-de-France region and government services. Tropicalia is the result of impact investment, which means a project that has been developed to obtain measurable economic, social and environmental impact.
